What is a LIFE group?
Life Groups are small groups of 6-14 people that informally meet in homes and other places for fellowship, Bible study, and encouragement. You’ll be able to connect and make friendships in a small group in a way that you can’t in a large worship service.<
- You’ll make new friends
- You’ll enjoy interacting with others
- Your group will discuss a short Bible study or watch a short video
- Your group will encourage you when you’re going through a difficult time
- Members of the group care for each other
What is the atmosphere in a LIFE group?
The atmosphere is fun and informal—like going to a party (but without the alcohol).
How long are the meetings and when will they meet?
- Length is usually an hour to 1 ½ hours, with a start and finish time.
- Most groups meet 2 or 3 times per month.
- Some groups meet on Sunday nights, while others meet on other days during the week.
- Groups won’t meet during the holidays or during the summer.
How do I find the right LIFE Group for me?
We offer a wide variety of groups that will appeal to different age groups and interests. An “Empty Nesters” group is usually composed of those whose children are no longer at home. The “Young Marrieds & Singles” are normally in their 20’s or early 30’s. “Bible study” groups generally study God’s Word and are open to every age group. Take a look at the Small Groups List on this website and choose one to visit. It’s best to call first to make sure they are meeting that night. Feel free to visit other groups until you find the right one for you.
Do you provide childcare during LIFE Groups?
Nursery and childcare will be provided at the church only on Sunday nights from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. You will need to drop off your children at the church, go to where your group meets, and then pick them shortly before 7:00 pm, which means your group will end 6:40-6:45 pm. Some groups provide their own childcare if they meet at other times during the week, so you will need to call the group leader to find out.
Can I start my own small group?
Yes! Please contact Pastor Kent and he will help you get started.
Can I start a group that meets in a place other than a home?
Yes! For example, you might start a “Men’s Devotional Breakfast” at a restaurant that meets 2-3 times per month before going to work. You might start a “Women’s Book Club” that meets during the week at a time you choose. You can even start a “Hobby” small group like bowling or sewing, and you’ll add a spiritual element to it. Pastor Kent will help you with this.
